Basement Fire in Pawtucket RI

PAWTUCKET, RI- A stubborn basement fire kept Pawtucket firefighters busy this afternoon. The fire, which was reported just after 2:00pm, broke out in a single family house on 175 West Forest Avenue. The dwelling, which is located in the city's Fairlawn neighborhood, sustained extensive damage as the fire spread though all floors.

It took firefighters 45 minutes to bring the blaze fully under control. Four engines, 2 ladders and 3 rescues responded to the scene, along with numerous chief officers.
