Fatal Fire in Norton

 

NORTON- A fast moving fire swept through a Reservoir Street home in Norton early this afternoon killing one individual. Norton firefighters were presented with heavy fire conditions as they arrived on scene of the 1 story irregular shaped house at 315 Reservoir Street and quickly struck a second alarm bringing in firefighters from Mansfield, Attleboro, Easton and Rehoboth.

There were no other injuries reported in the fire The Sate Fire Marshal and investigators from the Massachusetts State Police assigned to the Bristol County DA office were called to the scene. Initial reports on the cause of the fire and identity of the deceased were unavailable. ACN will bring you further updates.

 

 

Fire Damages Attleboro Home

ATTLEBORO- A fire this afternoon damaged a home on Cumberland Avenue in the south end of the City. Firefighters had the main body of fire brought under control quickly but spent time searching the walls and basement for any hidden flames.

There were no reported injuries in the blaze and it appears to have been accidental although the fire is still under investigation. Bottom photo by Don Kirby.

 

 

3 Alarm Fire Guts Mansfield Home

 

MANSFIELD- A 3 alarm fire early this evening caused heavy damage to a 2 story split level house on West Street in Mansfield. Mansfield fire crews had heavy fire showing from the basement upon arrival and the fire quickly spread thoughout the structure before being brought under control.

Firefighters from Foxboro, Norton, Attleboro, North Attleboro, Plainville and several other area towns responded to help at the scene, 900 West Street, and for station coverage.

Two Mansfield firefighters were transported to Norwood Hospital after suffering minor burn injuries when they were forced to quickly evacuate the house thru a basement window due to the extreme fire conditions. The fire is under investigation at this time and ACN will bring you more details as they become available. Photos by Jim Roach.

 

 

 

Accident Injures Two

ATTLEBORO- An accident on South Main Street near the Twin Village fire station sent two persons to the hospital. The accident was reported around noontime and a Seekonk rescue responded to the scene to assist Attleboro firefighters. Photo courtesy of Mark Stockwell/The Sun Chronicle.

Car Fire Threatens House

 

ATTLEBORO- A car fire in a residential driveway briefly threatened the house, but a quick knockdown of the fire by Attleboro firefighters prevented the flames from spreading. The car fire was reported at 9:35am on Cypress Road and fire crews cleared the scene at 10:00 am. The  car, a late model Oldsmobile, was a total loss.

 

 

Fatal Accident on Route 95 South

ATTLEBORO- A Rhode Island woman was killed early this morning when the vehicle she was operating rolled over on Route 95 South at Exit 3 (Rt 123). The victim was trapped in the car and pronounced dead at the scene around 3:30am. Attleboro fire crews responded along with the Massachusetts State Police. The accident is under investigation by the MSP and its Accident Reconstruction Team. ACN will bring you any further updates as they develop.
