North Attleboro- At approx 11:50pm Sunday night North Attleboro police and fire were dispatched to the area of North Washington St and Elmwood for a motor vehicle accident involving a single truck hitting a light pole. Upon the arrival of police they called off with a truck into the side of a house with heavy smoke coming from the impact. The truck appeared to have been travaling south on North Washington St when the driver lost control taking out a light pole at 432 North Washington st a fire hydrant just after and then hitting the side of 420 North Washington st hard enough to lodge itself into the basement before catching fire. Most of the fire was contained to the truck with some extension to the contents and structure of the basement. Fire crews had a tough time accessing the basement from the interior due to the fact the truck was blocking the stairs. Once crews entered the basement from the out side the fire was quickly extinguished. Suprisingly the female driver of the truck was unharmed, and all seven people living in the home also escaped with out injury. The exact cause of the accident is still under investigation at this time, however alcohol dosen't appear to be a factor and no arrest have been made. Photos and Story by: Scott Langille
