ATTLEBORO- Firefighters responded to a two car accident at the intersection of Emory Street and Torrey Street Friday afternoon.The accident took place just after 4:30pm. The drivers in the two car crash suffered only minor injuries and refused transport to the hospital. Traffic was tied up and detoured in the area, of the one way street, for approximately 30 minutes. NORTON-A two alarm fire at a multi-town wastewater treatment facility Tuesday afternoon caused heavy damage to the building. The fire damage was confined mostly to the exterior of the structure but there was heavy smoke damage to the inside of the plant. Norton Fire Chief Richard Gomes estimated the cost of the damage to be nearly $1,000,000.
The fire, which took place at 70 Hill Street, brought fire crews from Norton, Attleboro and Mansfield to the scene. The fire started in two pipes on the outside of the building. The fire is under investigation but believed to be accidental. There were no reported injuries in the blaze.
