Smokey Fire in Attleboro

 
ATTLEBORO- A smokey fire today at 393 Tiffany Street caused damage to a single family home. Fire crews had the fire knocked down in about fifteen minutes and remained on the scene for two hours. Photos by Justin Jackson.

 

  
 

Truck Tip Over in Attleboro

 

ATTLEBORO- A box truck tipped over early this morning on the Route 295 North exit ramp to Route 95 North. No major injuries were reported. Pictures by Justin Jackson.

 

Rollover Accident in Attleboro

ATTLEBORO-  Attleboro Fire responded to a motor vechile accident Thursday afternoon around 12:15pm. Upon arrival of Engine One and Rescue One, they found a motor vechicle on its side. The driver, a 59 year old male was out of the vehicle. Attleboro Rescue transported the driver to Sturdy Memorial Hospital with minor injuries. Garage Fire in Attleboro

ATTLEBORO- Attleboro Fire Department responded to a garage fire this morning at 229 South Main Street. First engine on scene reported, heavy smoke" coming from the building. Initial reports indicate is that the fire started near an air compresser in the rear part of the garage. The structure had considerable demange to that part of the garage, which was separate from the main part of the structure. At the time of the fire there was no dollar amount of the damages. Attleboro Fire, with Attleboro Police are still conducting their investigation at this time. Fire crews were on the scene for approximately 90 minutes. Photos and story by Don Kirby.

 

Van Catches Fire on Route 95

 

ATTLEBORO- The Attleboro Fire Department responded to Route 95 North, at the Route 123 overpass, just before 4pm Saturday afternoon for a reported car fire. Upon arrival Engine 1 crew encoutered a Plymouth mini-van fully involved. Crews stretched an 1 3/4" line and quickly knocked down the fire. Traffic was tied up in the area as the highway was shut down for several minutes. No injuries were reported.

 

 

 

Attleboro Responds To Trash Fire on County St

 

ATTLEBORO- AFD RESPONDED TO COUNTY ST. ACROSS FROM ELI'S PIZZA THIS MORING FOR A REPORTED TRASH TRUCK ON FIRE SHORTLY AFTER 7:30. THE DRIVER OF THE TRASH TRUCK EMPTIED THE TRASH IN BETWEEN THE BUILDINGS. ENGINE 1 IMMEDIATELY CALLED FOR ADDITIONAL APPARATUS. AFD OBTAINED A BACKHOE FROM THE DPW TO ASSIST IN MOVING THE TRASH. APD HAD COUNTY ST BLOCKED FROM WALL TO SECOND ST FOR APPROX. 1 HOUR. Photos and story by Don Kirby.

 

Fire Guts Attleboro Courthouse

ATTLEBORO- An early morning fire today gutted the second floor of the Atteboro District Couthouse causing an estimated $500,000 damage. Photos below.

 

 

 

2 Alarm Fire Strikes Local Metals Plant

 

ATTLEBORO-  A local metals finishing plant was struck by fire just after 9:00pm Sunday evening. The 2 alarm blaze caused heavy damage to a cleaning room located in the rear of the building.

First arriving fire companies responding to a automatic box alarm from the company found a heavy fire condition at the rear of the building and quickly struck a second alarm bring the rest of the City's on duty fire crews. Mutual aid from Pawtucket and North Attleboro responded to the scene and for coverage.

The cause of the fire is unknown butthe heavy fire conditions in the rear of the 200x50 foot building did cause a portion of the building's roof to collapse. ACN will update the story as information becomes available. Photos by Jim Roach.

 

Fire Damages Attleboro Home

ATTLEBORO- A fire this afternoon damaged a home on Cumberland Avenue in the south end of the City. Firefighters had the main body of fire brought under control quickly but spent time searching the walls and basement for any hidden flames.

There were no reported injuries in the blaze and it appears to have been accidental although the fire is still under investigation. Bottom photo by Don Kirby.

 

 

Accident Injures Two
