ATTLEBORO- On January 6, 2008 Attleboro Citywide News published its first story with no hopes or great expectations other than to provide the public with information about breaking fire and police news. One year later the response and support of Attleboro Citywide News by its loyal readers is extremely satisfying and humbling to this publisher. As of this date ACN has received over 39,000 page views and the online Attleboro Fire and Police scanner usage continues to grow.
It is my belief that ACN has provided the most immediate coverage of breaking news stories, with photos, on some of 2008's biggest stories in the Attleboro area. This all would not have been possible with out the support of ACN photo and story contributors like Scott Langille, Phil Sullivan, Marty Pyne, Matt Pillsbury, Keith Jackson and all the others who have sent in pictures or stories over the last year. Also thanks to Bert Buckley, and Citywide Disposal, our main sponsor of the site.
To all those that have emailed with comments and criticisms, I also say, thank you.To all the fire and police professionals who have helped me along the way at scenes and with stories. Thanks!
My promise to the readers, as ACN moves forward ,is to try and make the site better and more up to date. Do we miss somethings that the Big Boys get? Sure. But we also have a lot of pictures and stories that the Big Boys wish they had. So please pass the word along about the site, continue to enjoy it, and check it regularly for up-to-date breaking public safety news.
Once again, thanks for your support and have a safe and happy 2009 -Greg Jolly
